The Peacocks stormed to their biggest National League win of the season with a terrific 4-1 victory over Tonbridge Angels at the Cygnet Health Care Stadium this afternoon, a welcome result to end a run of six League games without a win. The hosts had the perfect start after just two minutes when Craig Braham-Barrett headed Zac Smith’s cross into his own net, with the early pressure being maintained when Angel’s keeper Kevin Manuel palmed a Lloyd James corner onto the bar. The visitors drew level on 28 minutes when home keeper Jack Bycroft lost his footing and was beaten by Dylan Gavin’s shot before the Peacocks hit back in first half stoppage time when Nat Jarvis got on the end of Jay Foulston’s corner to head home. Town added a third on 75 minutes when Ollie Chamberlain’s cross was met by Smith who drilled into the net from 12 yards, with Chamberlain sealing the points four minutes from time when he rifled home superbly from the right side of the box to lift his side up to 16th in the table and put them in good heart for next weekend’s big FA Cup tie at MK Dons.
