A double from Ollie Chamberlain secured the Peacocks a 2-1 home win over Dorchester Town in the Pitching In Southern League this evening (17th August).
All the goals came in a four minute spell early in the game. Sam Bayston put the visitors ahead on 11 minutes when he fired in from 12 yards before Chamberlain grabbed the equaliser after 14 minutes, heading into the net after Magpies’ keeper Gerard Benfield had missed a Jay Foulston cross. Chamberlain then drilled home a left footed strike a minute later to give the hosts the lead. Dorchester nearly made the Peacocks pay for their tepid second half display when they were awarded a penalty four minutes into stoppage time but Tom Purrington blazed it over the bar to make it a 100% start to the campaign for Town who now prepare for the visit of Metropolitan Police on Saturday.
