After their midweek FA Cup success, the Peacocks return to National League South duty when they travel to Worthing tomorrow (22nd October), ko 3.00pm.

The win over Yeovil has provided a massive boost with Town now looking forward to visiting League One MK Dons, but they will need to get all thoughts of that game out of their heads with four important League fixtures to play before then starting with the trip to Sussex tomorrow. The Peacocks had a bad day at the office last time out in the National League, suffering a 5-0 loss at leaders Ebbsfleet, so will be looking to restore some respectability at Woodside Road. However the game is sure to provide another serious test of Town’s credentials, with the Rebels having made an impressive start to life at Step 2 following their promotion from the Isthmian League Premier which they won by 10 clear points last season. They currently occupy 6th place after remaining unbeaten for the opening ten fixtures of the campaign including five wins but have lost their last two matches by a 2-1 margin at home to Farnborough and away to Braintree Town last Saturday.

The Peacocks meanwhile have gone four League games without a win since securing three points at Hungerford in early September but will hope to take the confidence gained from their FA Cup success into tomorrow’s meeting. Head of Football Rob Dray names an unchanged squad for the journey south, with centre half Jake Wannell likely to be missing for several more weeks. The Town boss commented:” Nights like Tuesday are what we are in football for but that is now history, and we have an important League game to focus on. Worthing have made a good start in the National League and if we don’t show the same application and organization we did against Yeovil, we will be punished. Margins are tight in this League and the team are aware of that, but confidence is good after the FA Cup win which will stand us in good stead.”
