The pre-season games continue for the Peacocks tomorrow evening (12th July), when they make the short jaunt over to old rivals Bridgwater Town, kick-off 7.45pm.

Tuesday’s 5-0 win at Tavistock got Town’s friendly fixtures off to a solid start and they will be looking to build further towards their preparations for the new campaign against the Robins who will be playing their third pre-season game, having beaten Honiton Town 6-1 in their opener last Thursday before losing 5-0 to Dorchester Town two days ago.

Since being relegated from the Southern League at the end of the 2016-17 season, Bridgwater have been rebuilding well in the Western League, finishing fourth last season and look likely to again be among the front runners this term so Town can expect another testing workout.

The Peacocks name the same squad from Tavistock with the addition of Jamie Short who is back from holiday and another trialist. Head of Football Rob Dray remarked:” It will be another tough test tomorrow. Dave Pearse, Bob Buckingham and Ian Barber have got the club back on its feet and are doing very well so it will be the same as Tuesday, with the opposition providing a good examination ahead of the three pro clubs coming up next.”
