The Peacocks extended their unbeaten run in the National League South to three games with a thoroughly deserved 3-1 victory over Chippenham Town at the Cygnet Health Care Stadium this afternoon.
In front of a four figure crowd, Town dominated the first half but only led by the single goal at the interval, Luke Russe steering Jay Foulston’s low cross into his own net after 25 minutes. Against the run of play Chippenham equalised five minutes into the second half with a great strike from Caine Bradbury who curled home a shot from the left side, but the Peacocks quickly regained the lead two minutes later when Jake Wannell headed in at the far post from a Lloyd James free kick. A screamer from Ollie Chamberlain then put Town 3-1 up on 62 minutes, rifling in a 20 yarder after good work from Dave Sims-Burgess. Peacocks’ sub Dylan Morgan drilled a shot off the cross bar late on while Jordan Young also found the woodwork for the visitors during stoppage time as Town secured their second home win of the campaign to rise to 11th in the table.
