Football finally returns to the Cygnet Health Care Stadium tomorrow (3rd August) when the Peacocks welcome Bedford Town, ko 3.00pm.
The game marks the end of Taunton’s intense pre-season programme in which they have played 10 other matches, all away from home, as manager Richard Luffman and his team attempt to blend a brand new squad together ahead of the big Southern League kick-off next weekend at home to Gloucester City.
The meeting with Bedford will be a good yardstick to complete the friendlies, with the Eagles residing at an equivalent level to the Peacocks after winning promotion last season to become members of the Southern League Premier Central for the coming campaign.
Supporters are reminded that there will be no admission charges for tomorrow’s game, with entry by donation only on the gate. Car parking is also free but please note that a charge of £5 per car will be payable to include a free printed matchday programme when the season commences next Saturday.
It’s been 106 days since the Peacocks have been on home turf so please come and see the new team in action and support your local club! Turnstiles and Main Bar opens at 12 noon.
