The Peacocks’ squad continues to expand ahead of the 2024-25 season as we welcome Alfie Moulden to the club. The attacking midfielder is the eighth new face in the Town ranks as manager Richard Luffman assembles a brand new squad to tackle the Southern League Premier.

Despite his young age, Alfie has gained a considerable amount of experience with several clubs at this level. Born in Yorkshire where he was a member of the Bradford City Academy, he relocated to North Devon as a 16 year old and began playing for Ilfracombe Town whilst being dual registered with Barnstaple Town and then Bideford.

He signed for Willand Rovers ahead of the 2020-21 season where his skilful performances caught the attention of Weston-super-Mare who signed him for a cash fee in October 2021. After recovering from a groin injury, he spent a loan period at Tiverton Town from August 2022 until January the following year but then left Weston a month later to return to his native Yorkshire and sign for Northern Premier League club Guiseley. Since his move back south last summer he has featured for Plymouth Parkway and then Willand Rovers for another spell, before ending last season with Tiverton Town.

Alfie gave us his thoughts on his move to the Peacocks, saying:” I’m buzzing to get started and join this brilliant football club. The future is looking bright and there’s a great atmosphere around the place. Looking forward to pulling on a Taunton shirt and playing in front of the great fans.”

Town boss Luffman added:” Alfie is known to me from his time at Willand and after that Tiverton. He’s a fine footballer who needs to find a place to call home. His form for Tiverton in the latter part of last season was a massive reason for them eventually staying up. Alfie can play centrally, deeper or in both of the wide positions. A real prospect who we’re delighted to capture from Tiverton as they were desperate to keep him.”
