The Peacocks bounced back from Saturday’s defeat with a superb 2-0 Vanarama National League South victory over Havant & Waterlooville at the Cygnet Health Care Stadium this evening. And what a turnaround from the weekend it was, with Town much the better side in a goalless first half before their cause was helped further seven minutes after the break when high-flying Havant were reduced to ten men after Joash Nembhard received a straight red card for a poor challenge on Dave Sims-Burgess. Town then took the lead after 73 minutes when Joe Budd’s drilled shot into the box took a deflection off Jake McCarthy to find the net before the visitors had Danny Wright red carded five minutes from time for a late challenge on Dan Ball. Zac Smith curled a lovely strike into the far corner from the right side of the box three minutes from time to seal the points and deservedly end the Hawks’ unbeaten League record away from home this season.
