The Peacocks’ unbeaten run in the Southern League Premier South will be put to a severe test when they travel to AFC Totton tomorrow evening (22nd October), ko 7.45pm

Saturday’s terrific victory at previously unbeaten Basingstoke made it five wins and two draws for Taunton from the last seven league outings but that record will be put under close scrutiny with a visit to one of the hot promotion favourites. After losing to Salisbury in last season’s Play-Off Final, the Stags will be aiming to go one better this time around and have so far made a positive start towards that goal, lying in third spot with 25 points from 12 games played. Their only defeat of the campaign came at Dorchester last month, since when they have won twice and drawn another two games, most recently at home against league leaders Gloucester City at the weekend.

Eddie Jones returns to the Peacocks’ squad for the trip to the south coast tomorrow but Harris Feltham and Owen Brain, who went off injured at the end of the Basingstoke game, are both doubtful. Town manager Richard Luffman remarked:” We’re all raring to go in what will be a very tough game against the champions elect. We go there as underdogs but as always we will be doing our best to try and put in a good performance and keep our good run in the league going.”
