We were delighted to welcome staff and service users from Cygnet Health Care to Wordsworth Drive recently to officially launch their sponsorship of the North Stand. Cygnet Health Care have forged a fantastic partnership with us over the past four years since becoming Stadium sponsor in July 2019 and although that particular sponsorship has now ended, they have continued their great support of the club by becoming the new sponsor of the North Stand along with primary sponsorship on the front of the away shirts and shorts.
Our Football Operations Manager Karl Lindsay commented:” We are delighted to continue the relationship we have built over the last four years with Cygnet Hospital in Taunton and proud to be associated with them in their work to help breaking down the barriers associated with mental illness. It is fantastic to see patients come to the ground to watch a game and grow with confidence with each visit through social interaction as well as the all- important support they give to the team. “
Dr Phil de Warren-Penny who is Medical Director & Consultant Psychiatrist at the Cygnet Hospital Taunton remarked:” The relationship between Taunton Town Football Club and Cygnet Hospital Taunton is a significant benefit to our patients, breaking down the stigma associated with mental illness and providing a meaningful anchor into the community. I am delighted that our relationship continues to grow”.
Stuart Hooper, head of Active life therapy program at the Taunton site, added:” Sport and being physically active can bring a powerful and positive impact on mental well-being, so we feel we share the same values as Taunton Town Football Club. We are proud to be sponsoring them for a fourth year and wish the club a successful season ahead with our patients cheering them on.”
