As announced earlier today on our social media channels, Jamie Short has departed the club.
Although initially agreeing terms to remain at the Cygnet Health Care Stadium for next season, he has now opted to sign for Southern League Division One South side Bristol Manor Farm. Jamie was in his second spell with the Peacocks, having rejoined in 2019, and has made 223 full and 63 substitute appearances for the club and scored 30 goals, spanning the past 12 years.
Head of Football Rob Dray commented:” We will miss Shorty around the place, he’s great around the changing room and been a superb player for Taunton. He wanted to play regularly in his best position and unfortunately I couldn’t guarantee that so he goes with no bad feeling to somewhere he’s certain to play weekly and he will always be welcome back.”
We thank Jamie for his service to the club and wish him the best of luck for the future.
He is the fourth departure from the club since the end of last season, with Owen Howe also having signed for the Bristol side back in April. Meanwhile midfield men Jordan Copp and Elias Youssef have also left to join Plymouth Parkway and Merthyr Town respectively in recent weeks. We wish both Jordan and Elias good luck with their new clubs.
