With all of their nearest rivals being involved in the Buildbase FA Trophy, the Peacocks have a chance to further cement their place near the top of the Evo-Stik League when they entertain Wimborne Town tomorrow afternoon (10th October), kick-off 3.00pm.

Last weekend’s win at Swindon Supermarine lifted Town up to third spot in the table and victory tomorrow will close the gap to one point on second placed Salisbury. Like the Peacocks, this is Wimborne’s first season at Southern Premier level; they lost in the final of the Play-Offs last term but were still promoted due to a league reshuffle following the demise of northern club Shaw Lane. The Magpies occupy 17th spot with four wins from 13 fixtures so far, with all four of their successes coming at home, the latest being last Saturday’s victory over Hartley Wintney. Their record on the road is less impressive where they have picked up just one point from six matches.

The Peacocks welcome back Keith Emmerson after he missed the trip to Supermarine last week but fellow centre half Josh Nelmes is away. Head of Football Rob Dray commented:” Wimborne always play well against us, not sure how or why but they always pull out a performance so again discipline and concentration will be vital. We need to carry on from last week with another clean sheet but we know the dangers they hold, as do all sides at this level.”

A reminder to fans attending the game that there will be an Armistice Day tribute just before kick-off when one minute silence will be observed following the last post.
