It’s set to be another exciting afternoon at the Viridor Stadium following Town’s 2-1 Boxing Day derby win over Tiverton Town.
The top two sides in the Evo-Stik South Premier Division go head to head tomorrow afternoon (29 Dec) in front of another large crowd.
Both clubs will be eager to earn victory to maintain the pressure on each other. Town would extend their lead over Weymouth at the top of the table to 10 points whilst the Terras would close the gap to just 4 points with 2 games in hand over the Peacocks.
The Terras have claimed the spoils on both previous meetings this term by securing an injury time winner at the Bob Lucas Stadium to seal a 2-1 victory and deservedly running out 3-1 victors at the Viridor Stadium in the Buildbase FA Trophy.
The only absentees for Rob Dray are Ed Palmer who misses the match due to a family wedding and Lloyd Irish who returns from Australia towards the end of January.
Ahead of the game Head of Football Rob Dray commented, “In September we wouldn’t have said Weymouth would be coming to us needing to win and they’d be seven points behind us, but here we are. There is no doubt they have been the best side we’ve played in the league but the table doesn’t lie and the pressure is on them to come here and win. We have a squad full of characters with the right attitude and this group of players have a reputation for the big games and this is another one. The big crowd was fantastic on Boxing Day and let’s hope we get another tomorrow afternoon.”
