Peninsula League side Tavistock visit the Viridor Stadium tomorrow evening (31st July) for the Peacocks’ latest pre-season friendly, kick-off 7.45pm.
Town come into the game fresh from their creditable 2-2 draw against a strong Exeter City side on Friday evening, their third warm-up fixture of the summer following 5-0 wins over Willand Rovers and a Plymouth Argyle XI. Tomorrow’s visitors will need no introduction to home fans, having knocked the Peacocks out the FA Cup last season after winning a replay at the Viridor. Every cloud has a silver lining though as the meetings paved the way for Dan Sullivan to join Town and the talented frontman went on to enjoy a superb debut season with his new club. Tavistock meanwhile completed the 2017-18 campaign as runners-up to Plymouth Parkway so are sure to provide another good work-out tomorrow.
Skipper Matt Wright and midfielder Ryan Brett both return to the squad after missing the Exeter game but Craig Veal may not be involved as he is suffering from tonsillitis.
