There will be a pitch inspection in the morning to determine whether the Peacocks’ Vanarama National League South home game with Slough Town goes ahead tomorrow evening (5th March), ko 7.45pm.
More wet weather this afternoon will not have helped the state of the Wordsworth Drive playing surface, leaving a referee’s inspection to give the thumbs up or down in the morning. If the pitch is passed fit, the game will provide Town with their first home fixture in a month since Truro visited at the beginning of February, with four successive home matches having been postponed.
Slough will travel west in a tidy run of form, a five game unbeaten spell seeing them occupy tenth spot and this run would have been extended to six at the weekend until their home meeting with Bath City was abandoned due to an emergency in the crowd with the Rebels leading 4-2. The Peacocks meanwhile will be desperate to end a sequence of 13 league games without a victory as they look to clamber out of the relegation zone. Skipper Nick Grimes returns to the squad after being suspended for Saturday’s defeat to Truro City.
