It’s now three Southern League Premier South games undefeated for the Peacocks and they look to maintain that run with a trip to Plymouth Parkway tomorrow evening (10th September), ko 7.45pm.

Home draws with Sholing and Hanwell Town plus their first win of the season at Frome Town have provided improvement for Taunton following a return of just one point from their opening three fixtures, and adding in the FA Cup victory over Didcot the Peacocks will be aiming for their fifth game unbeaten in all competitions tomorrow in what will be their first ever competitive meeting with the Plymouth side.

Parkway have not had the start they would have wanted, currently sitting in 20th place and without a win so far in the league. They have yet to collect a point at their Bolitho Park home following defeats to Basingstoke Town, Winchester City and most recently to Walton & Hersham on Saturday whilst the two points they have earned have come on the road at Havant & Waterlooville and Tiverton Town. Their only success so far has come in the FA Cup with a home win over Wessex League side Baffins Milton Rovers so there will be no lack of incentive for a Parkway squad featuring former Peacock favourites Shane White, Matt Wright and Ryan Brett to turn the corner tomorrow night.

Manager Richard Luffman names an unchanged squad from Saturday with the addition of Evander Grubb to the travelling party. We are also pleased to report that long term injury absentee Tiago Sa had a successful ankle operation today. Looking ahead to the clash under the Devon lights, the Town boss remarked:” It’s obviously a big game. Parkway haven’t won in six games but can move to within a point of us with a win whereas if we win, we can create a bigger gap between ourselves and the bottom four so even at this early stage it’s important to put points on the board. We’re under no illusions how tough the game will be though as they will be desperate for the three points, they’ve got some good players, and they’ve got expectations to be much higher than where they are currently.”
