The Peacocks recorded their first win in seven Vanarama National League South outings with a comprehensive 4-0 victory over Farnborough at a gusty Somerset Campervan Co Stadium this afternoon. Town were soon into the groove and made an early breakthrough after just five minutes when Ollie Chamberlain drilled home a great finish after Farnborough had failed to clear. Zac Smith’s shot hit the post while Selim Saied did likewise at the opposite end before the hosts doubled their lead seven minutes before the break through Lloyd James who seized on a loose ball to float a beauty over keeper Jack Turner from 25 yards. Ross Stearn added a third on the hour, diverting in Chamberlain’s goalward drive and to cap off a fine afternoon’s work, Cameron Evans made it 4-0 five minutes from time when he slotted into an open net from Stearn’s cross, thereby registering his side’s biggest ever win to date in the National League South.
