It was honours even in the top of the table Southern League clash at the Cygnet Health Care Stadium this afternoon with the Peacocks drawing 1-1 with leaders Hayes & Yeading United.
The visitors were quick out of the blocks and gained the advantage after just six minutes when Omar Rowe put Francis Amartey through to tuck the ball past Will Buse for the opener. The Peacocks equalised on the stroke of half time when Toby Holmes latched onto a long ball, took a touch past a defender and rounded Constable to slot into the net.
The Peacocks were unlucky not to take the lead seven minutes into the second half when Joe Guest’s shot from the edge of the box was touched on to the crossbar by keeper Ravan Constable but despite further openings for both sides it finished a point apiece. Results elsewhere meant Town slip a place to 4th in the table as they now prepare for another vital home game against play-off rivals Chesham United next Saturday.
