We are delighted to confirm the appointment of Lloyd Irish as goalkeeping coach.
Irish has become a club icon, being only 15 shy of making 400 appearances for the Peacocks in his three spells at the club. Although his first team selection was limited last season, he proved invaluable back-up to loanee Jack Bycroft and will again fill the No 2 position for the club’s second season in the Vanarama National League South.
Lloyd commented:” I’m delighted to have been offered the role of goalkeeping coach and back up keeper by Rob. I’ve loved being part of this club over the years and definitely wouldn’t want to be anywhere else now. It was great to work with Connor this year and I’ve learned a lot about the coaching side from him. Rob has put together a great team both on and off the pitch and I’m excited to see what we can achieve in the new season. #UTP”
Head of Football Rob Dray added:” Lloyd taking on his first coaches’ role as a club legend is a perfect fit. He will be our number 2 keeper but has already done a great job with Jack last year. Having him around the management team is a definite plus for all of us and we look forward to him enhancing the role.”
