We are delighted to report that Jake Mawford has put pen to paper for the Peacocks for the new 2020-21 Southern League season.
The adaptable 27 year old midfielder has featured in all of Town’s pre-season friendlies so far, having accumulated a vast amount of previous experience at National League and non-league level, primarily with his hometown club Weston-super-Mare during a number of spells. He has also featured for Paulton Rovers and Dorchester Town amongst others, with his most recent career being spent at National League Gloucester City in 2018-19 before rejoining Weston for last season and then going on loan to Melksham Town.
He told tauntontown.com:” I’m delighted to be joining Taunton and have really enjoyed pre-season under the management team other than Brean and feel excited to see what we can achieve next season. On a personal level I feel the shape of the team really suits my strengths and I foresee a positive season ahead.”
Head of Football Rob Dray added:” Jake is another versatile player with good experience and has fitted in well to the group straight away. He has given some good performances and we aim to improve on that while his dress sense on showing up to games has consistently confirmed he is a teacher.”
Welcome to the club Jake!
