A first half goal from Lee Lucas proved sufficient to secure a vital 1-0 win for the Peacocks over Concord Rangers at the Cygnet Health Care Stadium this evening.
Although it wasn’t the prettiest of games, the result was key as the three points lift Town up two places to 17th in the Vanarama National League South table. The visitors were close to taking the lead when Lewis Manor hit the bar from close range and they were made to pay when the Peacocks grabbed what proved to be the only goal of the evening on 22 minutes, Joe Guest laying the ball across from the right into the path of Lucas who drilled home from six yards. Ross Stearn’s close range effort struck the bar in the second half but there were no further goals for the hosts who now prepare for Good Friday’s Somerset derby at Bath City.
