The summer transfer window is ramping up for Richard Luffman and his team as they announce their third recruit of the summer, as we welcome forward, Owen Brain, to Wordsworth Drive.
Owen enjoyed an incredibly successful 23/24 campaign, netting important goals for Bristol Manor Farm as they looked to secure Premier South football and also featuring for Gloucester City as they tried to battle their way out of the relegation zone.
Owen netted 14 goals in 27 Southern League Division One South games for Bristol Manor Farm, and ended up notching 21 in all competitions to finish as the club’s top goalscorer, earning himself a place in the Southern League Division One South Team of the Season. In Owen’s brief spell with Gloucester City he netted 2 goals in 9 Vanarama North appearances.
Owen told club media: ”I’m delighted to sign for Taunton Town, and I’m really excited to show the fans what I can do.”
After bringing in Owen Brain, Richard Luffman had this to say: “Owen is arguably the biggest teenage talent I’ve seen in non-league in a very long time. Owen is a goalscoring number 10 who can play anywhere across the front 4. He is a scorer of great goals, and someone who will no doubt go on to play a lot higher than step 3, cherish him while he’s here. A proper football player.”
