The Peacocks gave their fans a festive treat as they thrashed Harrow Borough 7-1 in the Southern League at the Cygnet Health Care Stadium this evening.
A fantastic display from Town saw them climb up to sixth place in the table although they made a poor start, James Ewington lashing home to put the visitors ahead after two minutes. The Peacocks quickly drew level after six minutes when Jay Foulston put Jared Lewington clear down the right and his looping shot over Josh Strizovic crept in under the bar. Ross Stearn then put Town ahead after 23 minutes, driving home in to the far corner before he added a second a minute later when he finished past Strizovic. Stearn then put Toby Holmes away for him to make it 4-1 seconds before half time. The Peacocks dominated the second half, with Holmes completing his hat trick, firstly heading in a Foulston corner after 52 minutes and then tapping in at the far post on 68 minutes after Stearn’s free kick had deflected to him. The scoring concluded with 12 minutes to go when Ollie Chamberlain’s shot was parried by Strizovic and Ross Staley netted the rebound to secure a handsome victory for Town who extend their unbeaten run to seven games.
