The Peacocks picked up a valuable point on the road with a 1-1 draw at Dartford in the Vanarama National League South yesterday.
Both goals came before the break with skipper Nick Grimes firing Town ahead from the penalty spot after 18 minutes after Zac Smith had been brought down by Maxwell Statham before the Darts were level on 34 minutes when Fumnaya Shomotun converted Luke Coulson’s cross. The visitors had chances to win it after the break but were denied by keeper Billy Terrell while Town keeper Dan Lavercombe pulled off a brilliant save in stoppage time to preserve the point. Grimes then received a second yellow to leave the Peacocks to see out the final seconds with ten men. With results elsewhere being kind, Town remain in 20th spot as their winless run stretches to a dozen games which, weather permitting, they will want to end when they host Weston-super-Mare on Tuesday evening.
