Three goals in ten minutes saw both sides finish with a point apiece in a dramatic finale as the Peacocks drew 2-2 with Tonbridge Angels in the Vanarama National League South this afternoon. Town came close to taking the lead on 10 minutes when Zac Smith’s curling strike hit the bar before breaking the deadlock after 37 minutes when Dylan Morgan turned onto an Austen Booth short cross to slot home off the far post. This lead did not appear under too much threat as the game entered the latter stages until the Angels equalised out of the blue with three minutes remaining when Sean Shields found space to blast an effort past home keeper Dan Lavercombe from the edge of the box. The visitors then grabbed what was seemingly an unlikely winner four minutes into stoppage time, Jordan Higgs’ drive beating a static Lavercombe, but Peacocks’ skipper Nick Grimes ensured his team earned a share of the spoils two minutes later when he collected a cleared Ollie Chamberlain cross to see his shot take a slight deflection to find the bottom corner.
