The scheduled friendly against Bideford at the Cygnet Health Care Stadium tomorrow evening (26th November) has been cancelled.
The decision was made following the wet weather of recent days. Chairman and Head Groundsman Kevin Sturmey remarked:” Having walked the pitch early this morning, it is saturated and with another weather warning coming in tomorrow through Wednesday there will be no chance of preparing a pitch or playing! Simon only managed to get on it on Thursday to do some divoting but apart from that it’s been too wet to do anything. We need 2-3 dry days before we can even attempt to get machinery on the pitch while the water table is so high. The south west has again taken a battering recently so let’s hope for some dry days and nights! I can report though the penalty spot at the Innovation By Design End is improving after last week’s epic penalty shoot-out, but I will still plan to re-turf it when the turf is dry enough to cut out!”
