The club are delighted to announce their second recruit of the summer as we welcome forward, David Duru, to Wordsworth Drive.
David enjoyed a highly successful campaign last time out, netting 14 goals in the Southern League Division One South, and notching 21 in all competitions to finish as leading scorer with Southern League Division One South side Cribbs F.C. David had spent seven years with Cribbs, initially representing their 3rd side, before graduating into their reserves side and finally moving into their 1st Team. David would then later become the first contracted player in Cribbs history.
David told us:” Taunton is a big club with big history, and a fantastic fan base. I’m looking forward to making the step up and show I can deliver at a this level”
Richard Luffman is had this to say, after bringing in his former talisman, Duru: “Firstly a massive thanks to Cribbs FC and in particular the Vice-Chairman Simon Hartley. They’ve allowed this signing to happen with Dave being contracted and we thank them for that. We’re looking forward to travelling to them in pre season and also allowing our young prospects the opportunity of playing for cribbs throughout my tenure. Dave is a proper centre forward, big, strong, quick, and raw. We know those down the road in yellow amongst others were trailing Dave for some time and we’re delighted he is putting pen to paper with us to be a Taunton player next season. The profile that we want at Taunton and the profile that we believe is the right way forward is young, local, and on their way up with a mix of experience. Dave certainly is that. Welcome DD14″
