We are delighted to announce the formation of an exciting new Partnership with local Racehorse Trainer Alex Dunn Racing who is based in West Buckland. This innovative collaboration may be the first of its kind with both partners sharing the values of hard work and a hands-on attitude in order to achieve their ambitions.

The first big news from the partnership is the creation of the Taunton Town Peacocks, a racing club which gives Peacock fans the opportunity of racehorse ownership for just £57 per year. The classy 10 year old chaser Minella Voucher, a 4 time winner for Alex Dunn Racing, will run for the Taunton Town Peacocks in the club colours of claret and blue with Taunton Town FC emblazoned across the front of the silks. The £57 fee includes the following:

  • Balloted owners’ badges every time the horse runs
  • Direct weekly updates written by Alex as well as updates before Minella Voucher runs
  • A Morning on the Gallops for the Taunton Town Peacocks Racing Club
  • All racing, training, and administrative costs
  • Involvement in a staying National Hunt chaser who is a joy to watch!

Another new initiative in association with Somerset County Sports and Joma (the Peacocks’ kit suppliers) will see Alex Dunn Stable Staff wear branded clothing in the Parade Ring on a race day when Minella Voucher runs. This will enhance the link between us and help with both of our Brand identities.

We share the same values in sport and how we run things. All the Directors here are very “hands on” and this replicates how Alex runs her Racing Yard. This partnership will help promote both of us to a wider audience and we both believe this extra exposure will help both of us grow our brands. There will be an opportunity to “Meet the Trainer” when the Peacocks play Bristol City Under 23’s in a home pre-season friendly on Tuesday 10th August. Alex and husband Tom Dunn will be at the Stadium from 6pm to meet the fans and answer any questions they may have.
