A late goal saw visitors Exeter City grab a 2-1 victory in the Peacocks’ first home friendly of pre-season at the Cygnet Health Care Stadium this evening.
After a goalless first half which saw defences on top, Exeter took the lead on 76 minutes when Tim Dieng curled home a fine free kick after he had been fouled just outside the box. Town drew level just two minutes later when Ollie Chamberlain broke through for a strike which keeper Harry Lee could only parry and Harry Warwick was on hand to fire home the rebound. However it was the Grecians who secured the win with three minutes remaining when Dieng slotted in Nelson Iseguan’s cross but despite this the Peacocks can take plenty of positives from a competent display against League One opposition.
