The club are delighted to report that Matt Buse has become the latest player to sign a contract at the Viridor Stadium. The 21 year old midfielder has caught the eye with some tireless performances in Town’s engine room and has now been rewarded with a contract for the remainder of the 2018-19 season.
Buse is in his second spell at the club, having first joined the Peacocks for the 2016-17 campaign following spells at Yeovil Town and Weymouth. He moved onto Gosport Borough at the beginning of last season before re-joining the club in October 2017.
Interim manager Rob Dray commented: “It’s superb we have secured another great young talent that we believe will continue his development. Busey is a different kid since coming to us two years ago and is continuing to go through the gears. Matt and Ollie are two of the brightest talents in this league and it is terrific that the club has invested in these two players.”
Buse added: “I’m really happy to commit myself to the club. There is a great togetherness around the place and I’m delighted to be a part of it.”
There is also great news for disabled Peacock supporters who have been provided with a new viewing area at the Viridor Stadium. The new zone will be in use for the first time at this Saturday’s game against Chesham United and has been constructed by Club Vice-Chairman Facilities Brian Pollard and Peacocks’ fan and volunteer Adam Farrington. The new viewing area is located at the end of the terrace by the players’ entrance onto the pitch and complements the two other wheelchair areas already in use at the ground.
