The Peacocks have received a major setback with the news that top scorer Andrew ‘Rocky’ Neal will be out of action for the immediate future following the results of a scan on his injured knee. The scan revealed a tear on the meniscus, which is likely to require an operation, more details of which will be known when he sees the specialist next week.
Neal has been in superb form again this season, netting 22 goals in all competitions from 31 appearances, 16 of which have come in the League where he is leading scorer in the Southern Premier South. He will therefore be sorely missed by Town in their quest for promotion which continues tomorrow at Swindon Supermarine. Head of Football Rob Dray said:” We’re devastated for Rocks but we will be doing all we can to get him back out there for the run-in. We are exploring all options for treatment and recovery so he will hopefully miss as short a time period as possible.”
We wish Rocky a speedy return to action.
