The club are delighted to welcome Jack Matthews to the Cygnet Health Care Stadium on a three month loan from Plymouth Argyle. The young defender who hails from Newquay has progressed through the youth ranks at Argyle after joining them as a 10 year old, featuring at centre half for the Under 18’s but also being able to operate in midfield. He was included in the senior Argyle squad for much of last season before signing a pro contract this summer and has just returned from a loan spell at Tavistock.
Town manager Richard Luffman remarked:” Centre half was a position we were struggling in and we’re delighted to add Jack to the squad. He’s an intelligent footballer who’s very good on the ball. Many thanks to Plymouth Argyle for their help in getting the loan sorted.”
