Taunton maintained the 5 point gap at the top of the table following a 2-1 victory over Farnborough earlier this afternoon.
Shane White looped Ryan Brett’s deep free kick over Liam Beach to open the scoring on 14 minutes. After the break Town doubled their lead through the penalty spot as Rocky Neal picked out the top corner in the 76th minute. The visitors did grab a consolation goal deep into stoppage time but it was too little to late.
Following the win Head of Football Rob Dray said, “This was a great win against an in form team. They made it difficult for us with their size, but it could have been different had it not been for Lloyd’s penalty save. I thought we were good value and it could have been 4 or 5 if it wasn’t for the woodwork. This game is put into the memory bank and we move onto the next one.”
