The Peacocks were knocked out of the Isuzu FA Trophy after a second half horror show saw them beaten 5-1 at Gosport Borough this afternoon.

A dominant first half performance had seen the visitors lead at the interval courtesy of Jayden Nielsen’s crisp strike from the edge of the box after 27 minutes while an Ollie Woodhouse header hit the post and several other openings went begging. The second half witnessed a complete turnaround, with Gosport taking just three minutes to draw level through Dan Wooden who headed over Adam Parkes after the keeper had initially saved from Asher Yearwood. Parkes gifted Borough a second after 65 minutes, his pass going straight to Wooden who slotted into an open goal while the Town defence were all at sea as Brad Tarbuck tucked home a third goal four minutes later. Alfie Stanley made it 4-1 after 78 minutes when he lobbed Parkes from the right before the final nail in the coffin came one minute from the end when Parkes brought down Yearwood who netted the resultant penalty, condemning the Peacocks to a second successive 5-1 defeat.
