Recap

Report

The visitors ran out easy winners against a hard-working Frome side in this pre season friendly.

The first half hour was pretty even but Taunton took the lead on 32 minutes when a free kick from Dan Ball was headed on by Dave Sims-Burgess to Joe Budd on the right and although Frome keeper Kyle Phillips got a hand to the strike he was unable to keep it out at his near post. The lead was doubled two minutes later when good work by Sims-Burgess and Ollie Chamberlain resulted in a deflected long range shot by Jake Wannell finding the net. Five minutes later and it was 3-0 when Nat Jarvis netted from a pass by Joe Budd.

Three minutes into the second half Wannell was denied a second goal by a superb save from Phillips but the Peacocks were rampant and it was no surprise when they added a fourth goal on 57 minutes when Lloyd James’ long ball found Nat Jarvis who netted his second with a deft flick over Phillips. A fifth goal followed ten minutes later – Harry Warwick was brought down by Callum Evans and he got up to score the penalty, sending Phillips the wrong way. Ioan Richards then scored his first goal for the club five minutes from time heading in a corner by Ross Staley to conclude the scoring.
