Recap
The Peacocks won their second friendly with a hard earned victory at Fairfax Park.
The visitors had a chance after 6 minutes but Ben Adelsbury’s free kick was comfortably saved by home keeper Jake Viney. Bridgwater had a corner after 13 minutes but skipper Mark Armstrong’s header went over the bar.
Taunton opened the scoring after 31 minutes when Luke Manley headed home after Dan Sullivan’s shot had been saved by Viney. Sullivan could also have increased the lead just before half time after exchanging passes with Manley but his shot went wide.
Former Peacock Steve Murray could have levelled for the hosts after 51 minutes but his shot went well over and Jack Taylor also had a chance after 65 minutes but his shot hit the post although he was flagged offside anyway. Ollie Chamberlain hit the post for the Peacocks with a powerful shot after 74 minutes but the second goal arrived after 81 minutes when sub Noah Coppin slid in to meet Josh Grant’s cross at the far post.
Town’s stand in keeper James Sleeman-Keen was not seriously tested during the game but he performed competently throughout.
