The Peacocks gained a 3-0 win at Cribbs FC in their seventh pre-season game this evening.
Taunton manager Richard Luffman’s return to his former club saw his new side take the lead after 16 minutes, Olly Sully being fouled on the edge of the box after David Duru had robbed a defender and Sully drilled home the free kick. The lead was doubled after 33 minutes when Kyrese Morrison knocked down a pass into the path of Duru who advanced to slot past Kyrese Johnson.
Play continued to be scrappy in the second half with Cribbs striking the post through Freddie Fraser while Jake Viney in the Taunton goal did well to foil Bailey Croome. Another Cribbs shot from distance hit the bar while the closest Town came to scoring was when a corner from Owen Brain nearly went straight in. A third goal was finally added two minutes into stoppage time after assistant manager Steve Murray netted a penalty after he had been brought down by a Cribbs substitute.
The Peacocks are in action again tomorrow evening (23rd July) when they travel to Western League Clevedon Town, ko 7.45pm.
