The Peacocks’ first home game in over six weeks ended in disappointment with a 2-1 defeat to Chippenham Town in the Vanarama National League South this evening.
The visitors held the advantage at the break after Luke Spokes had scored in the 26th minute, firing home from the right side with keeper Lloyd Irish getting his hands to the shot but unable to keep it out. Town drew level seven minutes into the second half when a corner was cleared as far as Ollie Chamberlain whose strike from the edge of the box found the bottom corner. Irish made two fine saves to keep his side level but could do nothing two minutes into stoppage time when Chippenham snatched the winner through Pele Kouisseone who tapped in from Tom Mehew’s cross.
