Several missed chances proved costly for the Peacocks who were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw against bottom side Dover Athletic in the Vanarama National League South this afternoon. It all started well enough for Town who took the lead after six minutes, Ollie Chamberlain’s precise drive from the edge of the box finding the bottom corner. The Peacocks were given a perfect opportunity to double their lead six minutes before the break after Dover keeper Daniel Jinadu brought down Zac Smith, however he made amends by comfortably saving Ross Stearn’s penalty. Dover hauled themselves back into contention when they drew level nine minutes into the second half, Bailey Akehurst’s free kick from the right getting a touch from George Nikaj at the post to find the net. Town failed to capitalise on some decent chances in the final stages to leave them with just their second point from the last six games.
