We are delighted to welcome Dan Lavercombe to the club as our second new signing of the summer. The 27 year old goalkeeper joins the Peacocks from FC United of Manchester where he has spent the last three seasons.
Dan remarked:” Speaking to Rob looking around the club and hearing about the project they’ve started, it’s a club on the up with big ambitions so I’m delighted to be on board. There’s a good squad in place from last year and I’m sure we can be a problem for the top teams in the division again this coming season.”
Lavercombe began his career with hometown club Torquay United, making his debut in April 2015, before joining Wigan Athletic in January 2016. He was immediately loaned back to Torquay for the remainder of the season and enjoyed a further spell at Plainmoor the following campaign along with a loan period at Rhyl. After leaving Wigan he joined AFC Fylde for the 2019-20 season before linking up a year later with FC United with whom he made 102 appearances and last season won the Supporters’ Player of the Year award.
Head of Football Rob Dray said:” As soon as we got wind of Dan being available and moving down south, we realised we had to act quickly as established keepers like him are rarely available. After Jack’s loan spell came to an end we knew we needed a marquee keeper and that’s what we have. I’m really pleased to add another great character to the group.”
