There is no time for the Peacocks to dwell on Saturday’s FA Cup exit as they prepare to welcome Havant & Waterlooville to the Cygnet Health Care Stadium tomorrow evening (8th November), ko 7.45pm.
It’s back to the demands of National League South football against the high-flying Hawks with Town wanting to build on their last League outing against Tonbridge which resulted in a 4-1 home victory. A 3rd place Havant side will be a tough prospect though having suffered just two League defeats so far, both of which have come at their Westleigh Park home by 1-0 margins to Oxford City last month and most recently to leaders Ebbsfleet United last Wednesday. The Hawks bounced back to beat Hemel Hempstead 2-0 at the weekend while their record on the road is very impressive with five wins and two draws, form which is sure to test the Peacocks’ unbeaten home run stretching back to August 2021.
Havant & Waterlooville were created in 1998 following a merger between Havant Town and Waterlooville, and apart from season 2016-17 have been members of the National League South since 2004. Town name an unchanged squad from the MK Dons game as they continue the job of trying to secure points to lift them up from their current 17th spot. Head of Football Rob Dray remarked:” It is one of the hardest games we could have had after Saturday as Havant are going well and are rightly among the favourites to go up to the National League. They are another established side at this level, and we will have to match them in every department if we want to keep our unbeaten home record going.”
Please note – in light of today’s wet weather and the overnight forecast, there will be an early pitch inspection at the Cygnet Health Care Stadium tomorrow morning. Any news will be posted on our usual channels as soon as possible.

Last meeting: although the Peacocks have played the former Waterlooville side back in the late 1970’s whilst in the Southern League, they have only met the club in its current guise on the one occasion. Town travelled to Hampshire on Saturday 21st September 2019 for an FA Cup 2nd Round Qualifying tie and were beaten 2-1. A Ben Adelsbury own goal and an Andy Drury strike gave the Hawks a two goal advantage before Shane White’s header in stoppage time reduced the arrears. Relive the match highlights HERE
