The Peacocks lost out 2-1 to Bideford in a competitive pre-season friendly at the Cygnet Health Care Stadium this evening.
Town made an ideal start when they took the lead after 7 minutes, Ollie Chamberlain floating in a cross which Dave Sims-Burgess touched home past Bideford keeper Adam Seedhouse. The visitors drew level on 16 minutes when Alex Byrne curled home a free kick from the edge of the box before they grabbed what proved to be the winner on 69 minutes after they broke from a Town corner for Lewis Jagger-Cane to slot past Will Buse. The Peacocks applied late pressure without success as they now focus on two away games to continue their preparations.
