With a wet and windy weekend forecasted, the club have arranged a morning pitch inspection tomorrow ahead of their scheduled BetVictor Southern League game against Salisbury at the Cygnet Health Care Stadium.
Chairman and Head Groundsman Kevin Sturmey has given tauntontown.com the following update:
“At present the pitch is in fine condition, it is marked and ready but due to the impending Storm Dennis we have arranged a precautionary pitch inspection at 11am based on the current weather forecast. If the forecast is accurate and they usually are for storms, then it is going to be a horrible day; currently there is an Amber warning for rain and a Yellow warning for wind!
We must also take into account safety both on and off the pitch when making decisions. While we will always do everything in our power to get a match on, we cannot change the weather unfortunately. We would advise everyone to keep checking our media channels on Saturday morning for updates and as soon as we know information it will be posted.”
