Town slipped to a disappointing defeat at the hands of Harrow Borough yesterday afternoon which saw their lead at the top of the table cut to just a single point.
The Peacocks started brightly and saw efforts from Pierce Mitchell and Dan Sullivan go close to opening the scoring. However, it was the host’s who broke the deadlock through a Ryan Moss penalty on 27 minutes and that is how it remained at the break.
Taunton had plenty of possession in the second half but were unable to draw level and Harrow avenging the 7-0 trashing at the Viridor Stadium earlier in the league campaign.
Following the game Rob Dray commented, “One result won’t define our season. I’m disappointed about the avoidable goal we gave away. As a group, what we need now is to be mentally resilient at places like Harrow but I’m confident we will bounce back. If anyone offered us top spot in the first week of March with 9 games left to play we would have snapped their arm off. It’s anybody’s league and whoever grabs it will deserve it.”
