Following a 10 day break, the Peacocks return to action tomorrow afternoon when they welcome Gosport Borough to the Viridor Stadium, kick-off 3pm.
The two sides last met in November with Town coming out on top with a 2-1 victory following strikes from Lewis Hall and Dan Sullivan. Gosport will be hoping to topple the league leaders as they currently languish 1 point above the relegation zone, having only picked up two wins away from home this season which included an impressive 3-1 scoreline at the Bob Lucas Stadium over Weymouth.
Taunton have an undefeated league record at home to preserve, and Rob Dray will no doubt be looking for a well rested squad to put on a performance in front of a home crowd. He will have a goalkeeping dilemma tomorrow as Lloyd Irish returns from Australia or to continue with loanee Chandler Hallett who has produced two very good performances since coming into the squad as cover. The Peacocks also welcome back Shane White following his New Year’s Day injury at Merthyr Town after being cleared to continue his playing duties.
Looking ahead at tomorrow’s match Rob Dray said, “It’s another stern test for us against a side that has beaten Weymouth away from home recently and is packed with league experience. The week or so rest has hopefully done us the world of good and we look forward to getting in a game at home before we face two tough away games in the next few weeks.”
