The Peacocks moved to the top of the table following a 2-1 victory at Privett Park earlier this afternoon.
Town opened the scoring in the 20th minute through Lewis Hall who opened his account for the club following his recent arrival from Hereford which saw the Peacocks ahead at the break.
Town doubled their lead over Gosport just before the hour mark as Dan Sullivan found space to find the bottom corner. Rob Dray’s men looked set for a clean sheet but Ryan Pennery had other ideas and beat Lloyd Irish just before the final whistle and the points returned to Somerset.
Reaction | Following the game Rob Dray commented, “As much as 2-1 looked close, I thought we dominated the ball in their half for long periods and the scoreline probably doesn’t reflect that. With the players they have who’ve huge amounts of league games playing for them, it was particularly pleasing to win away from home in that manner but we need to replicate today’s display next Saturday.”
