A resurgent second half performance saw the Peacocks earn a 1-1 draw with Maidenhead United in the 4th Round Qualifying of the Emirates FA Cup this afternoon. The National League visitors enjoyed the majority of possession during the first half and took the lead five minutes before the break, keeper Adam Parkes getting a hand to Reece Smith’s strike from the edge of the box but unable to keep it out. Taunton became stronger as the second half progressed and drew level after 74 minutes when substitiute David Duru slotted home at the far post following a spell of pinball in the box. Despite further pressure the Peacocks were unable to conjure up a winner as the sides look to do it all again in the replay on Tuesday evening but with the consolation of being in the bag for Monday’s 1st Round Proper draw.
