The Peacocks secured their third successive win with a 3-1 home victory over Swindon Supermarine in the Southern League Premier South this evening.
The hosts made a strong start to the game and took the lead after 14 minutes when Tom Smith won the ball to find Tom Purrington who slotted home past Luke Purnell. After Owen Brain had struck the post immediately after the restart, Town doubled their lead after 49 minutes when Purrington was tripped in the box by Jake Lee and Smith steered home the penalty. Aysa Corrick blasted in a third for the Peacocks after 58 minutes before Brain’s free kick hit the woodwork but somehow stayed out. Liban Ibrahim pulled a goal back with 15 minutes left to play but there was no way back for the visitors as Town extended their unbeaten run to eight competitive games.
