Barney Webber Cup Winners!

Taunton School 2 King’s College 1

Wednesday 23 September at Wordsworth Drive

So, in the end Taunton School triumphed in a thrilling encounter. Taunton dominated the first half and went into the break with a deserved 2 goal lead. King’s came storming back in the second half and had plenty of chances to equalise, if not win the game. Taunton hung on to lift the inaugural Barney Webber Cup. The game was a credit to both sets of players. Referee Brett Naylor commented that “the boys were a dream to ref”. Truly, A Night to Remember.

Plans are already under way for the 2027 Cup, so watch this space for more information.

This could be the start of something special. Queen’s, Richard Huish, we need you too!

The Barnaby Webber Foundation has two purposes.

The first to provide support and inclusion for young people aged 18 and under who are facing life challenges (be it physical, mental, emotional or social). This may be through other charities, schools or organisations but can also be directly to an individual or family.

Secondly, the foundation will support grassroots cricket clubs through the provision of essential equipment and items needed to encourage young boys and girls (aged 18 and under) to get involved in playing cricket.
