Taunton Town FC can confirm that Ben Seymour has joined Poole Town for a club-record transfer fee.
Ben leaves with our sincere thanks for his efforts and contribution during his time at the club, and everyone at Taunton Town wishes him every success for the future.
Chairman Brian Pollard said:
“Whilst Ben has been an important player for the club, the Board felt that the terms offered were in the best interests of Taunton Town Football Club, and this decision was not taken lightly.
With Ben’s contract due to expire at the end of the season, it was important that we carefully considered the opportunity presented. This transfer represents a club-record fee and an excellent commercial outcome for the club.
However, the decision followed lengthy discussions with the manager, who remains confident in the quality, depth and character of the current squad. As a club, we remain fully focused on achieving our objectives for the season.
We are actively working to strengthen the squad and can reassure supporters that we will continue to invest wisely in both the playing side and the long-term future of the football club.
The agreement is a positive outcome for all parties. We thank Ben for his commitment in a Taunton Town shirt and wish him every success in the next stage of his career.”
Everyone at Taunton Town thanks Ben for his contribution and wishes him well for the future.
